Weight Loss for Warriors
Weight Loss for Warriors, in conjunction with One Team One Fight, exists to honor our fallen heroes and Naval Special Warfare personnel. Our goal is to achieve this through fitness and fundraising for programs that provide support to families of fallen military heroes– past, present, and future. All funds raised will be shared between the Navy SEAL Foundation and The 31Heroes Project. The portion for the Navy SEAL Foundation will support their existing programs that assist both active and surviving NSW families. The funds raised for The 31Heroes Project will then be shared with the following organizations: Snowball Express, the Travis Manion Foundation‘s Challenge Grants program, and the specific memorial funds of each of the men killed in action August 6, 2011. Some of these organizations may be new to you, so please check out the websites of these great organizations for more information about what amazing things they are doing.
This program in its pilot phase, and will be hosted by several fire departments and community organizations in California. We are looking to create a meaningful and well-supported program to ensure we can have the biggest possible impact on military families through our donations. Please stay tuned for updates on additional locations or participating independently. If you would like more information on the program, or if you have questions, please email email@example.com.
The process is pretty simple:
- The weight loss challenge lasts for a period of 90 days.
- Prior to, and during the challenge, participants will solicit per pound or flat donations from family, friends, and co-workers.
- At the end of 90 days all money raised goes to the aforementioned charities supporting families of soldiers killed in combat.
A donation page will be set up on the 31Heroes.com website listing each participant. At the end of the 90 day challenge, the participants can notify and thank the people that have committed to a pledge, and provide them with a link to the donation page. All donations will be tax deductible.
